LG SIGNATURE pares back to put smart home tech in the picture

The future hasn’t quite delivered on its whooshing, sci-fi promise of flying cars, cities in the sky and nutritious meals in pill form. But a widescreen TV with resolution worthy of a panoramic picture window and a screen as slender as wallpaper? That future is right here, right now.

Intelligently designed to remove all distractions from viewing and listening pleasure, the LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W is the essence of 21st-century television. Extraneous details give way to simple minimalism. With a lissom, Active HDR ‘perfect black’ screen less than 4mm thick, Dolby Atmos-equipped speakers, AI Thinq operating system, Alpha 9 Intelligent Processor, and connections neatly housed in a freestanding hub – this is cinematic TV distilled to perfection.

The same aesthetic – the domestic appliance rendered as beautiful, functional art – is represented across the LG SIGNATURE product range. Take the Instaview Door-in-door refrigerator. With its stainless steel construction and mirrored-glass panel that illuminates to offer a view inside with two quick knocks, it transforms food preservation into an organisational pleasure. The TWINWASH washing machine with Centum System has the proportions of a brutalist sculpture and the ingenuity to wash two separate loads simultaneously. The LG SIGNATURE Air Purifier is an ambient revitaliser that looks like a premium hi-fi but cleans air with a proficiency that will revolutionise your home environment.

‘Our goal was to design the ultimate in elegant simplicity,’ says Torsten Valeur, master designer for LG SIGNATURE Home Appliance. ‘Every detail has been carefully chosen. We wanted to push boundaries, giving individuals a design-driven experience. A more exceptional life.’
