Furniture by Rena Dumas is now coming together for a new generation

The Greek-born, Paris-based architect Rena Dumas, who died in 2009, opened her own studio, Rena Dumas Architecture Intérieure (RDAI), in 1972, and is perhaps best known for creating the look of Hermès’ retail spaces. Although Dumas designed furniture and objects for select brands, in 1988 she designed the ‘Okeanis’ table (pictured) just for herself. Made up of two halves, this is a double object that can be paired or left apart. Parts of the tabletop can fold up to provide a tray table and, with the addition of a central leaf, it can be transformed into a dining table or desk. The table is now being reissued by curated online platform The Invisible Collection, alongside Dumas’ ‘Aria’ console and bedside table, from 1985, and ‘Lumière’ rug (pictured), also from 1988.
