HOLLY HENDRY
Artist
Multilayered, bodily and texturally eclectic: this could just as well describe Hendry’s art as her chosen dish for this month’s Artist’s Palate (page 134). The ‘buttery, gelatinous, glutinous’ banoffee pie recipe, credited to her mother, is ‘simple, and simply one of my favourites,’ she says. Known for her inventive material concoctions and cartoonesque, site-responsive sculptures, Hendry has a new solo show opening at Stephen Friedman Gallery, London, on 28 January.
