Vak’s ‘Artifacts’ presents objects as distilled symbols of their purpose, exploring how man-made things both adapt and inform in relation to us as consumers and creators. A Sekonic light meter, for example, becomes the subject of an image rather than just a tool used in its production, while a Bosch Quigo cross-line laser is inverted, becoming an art-like piece in itself rather than an instrument commonly used when hanging art.
