JOIN THE FORMER CHAMPION JOCKEYTURNED-TOUR LEADER ON THIS EIGHTDAY HORSE-RIDE DISCOVERING A BEAUTIFUL, LITTLE-KNOWN NATION

Packed with magnificent mountains and amazing architecture, beautiful Montenegro is made for exploring on horseback, and this eight-day trip allows you to experience it from the saddle.

Your host will be Richard Dunwoody, a three-time Champion Jockey and now an entertaining tour leader. Together you’ll explore mountains and rivers, visit traditional villages, enjoy home-cooked Montenegrin meals and immerse yourselves in beautiful scenery.

HIGHLIGHTS Richard Dunwoody as tour leader

Since Richard retired from horseracing in the late 1990s, he has become even busier, leading tours, going on gruelling expeditions and taking portraits of famous figures. We are delighted that he will be on hand throughout this tour next June. And you don’t need to be a top jockey to join him. Any intermediate rider able to control a horse in open country at walk, trot and canter can take part.

Montenegro’s National Parks

You will discover two of Montenegro’s most cherished protected areas: Biogradska Gora, where you’ll pass springs and lakes with the peaks of the Albanian Alps in the distance, and Durmitor National Park, where you’ll trot through meadows and villages as you head for one of the highest points in the Balkans.

Monasteries and bridges

En route you will see some very different architectural features, from the striking medieval Morača Monastery to the vast arches of Djurdjevica Tara Bridge.

Raft down the Tara River Canyon

On your penultimate day you’ll step out of the saddle to explore Europe’s deepest canyon in the best way possible: by raft, giving you the chance to admire the landscapes as you drift along with the current.
