Day 2
Galwegians sip morning brews at arty cafés on cobbled lanes in the so-called – try
(coffeewerk andpress.com) on Quay Street. Then head to the aptly named
lined with brightlypainted gift stores and boutiques, old-fashioned sweet shops, book shops, jewellers selling traditional Claddagh rings (pictured), all to a background of drummers and strumming buskers.
Strolling further afield, cross to the green spaces on then continue over
to South Park and its sweeping views to then on along the ‘prom’ to
Return via the 19thcentury cotton mills.
Back in the centre, make for a cosy, old-fashioned pub. Craft beers, locally brewed, seem to be more popular than Guinness; ask for a pint of Galway Hooker.
