REACH NEW HEIGHTS
Soon you can swap climbing the walls for climbing mountains as a tough hiking trail has opened in Grampians NP in Victoria, Australia. While a shorter circular route is already accessible, the next section of the Grampian Peaks Trail will open in summer, with the final part opening in autumn. Designed for experienced hikers, the entire 160km trek features rough terrain, steep climbs and long descents – there’s a reason why Mt Difficult got its name. Grampians Peaks Walking Company runs guided tours of individual sections with stays in boutique hotels. Along the way you’ll see waterfalls, wildlife and Aboriginal rock art. grampianspeaks.com.au
