Away with the fairies

A new museum dedicated to Hans Christian Andersen is opening in the Danish author’s birthplace this summer. H C Andersen’s House in Odense in Denmark is as whimsical as the author’s fairytales. Inspired by The Tinderbox – in which a tree reveals an underground world – the museum is partly subterranean and intertwined with a labyrinthine garden.
