MUSIC fans are looking forward to Soundscape Weekender – the new two-day music festival coming to Ricoh Arena, Coventry, on Saturday, June 15 and Sunday, June 16.

The exciting event celebrates the very best of pop and indie music on day one, with day two focusing on other chart-topping bands and solo artists.

Soundscape Weekender has already announced a string of acts for the Sunday, including international DJ David Guetta.

He will be joined by Clean Bandit and Years & Years – who have collectively spent more than 100 weeks in the top 10 of the UK charts.

Reigning X Factor winners Rak-Su are also appearing.

The R&B group will be sharingn the stage with Anne-Marie – one of the biggest female acts in the UK – and highly-rated newcomer Mabel.

With tickets for Sunday on sale and priced from £49 (+booking fee) it’s no wonder organisers at Showtime Live pledge Soundscape Weekender “offers high calibre acts at a low price”.

Saturday tickets will be available soon, along with the announcement of an eclectic mix of the very best in indie, rock and alternative A-listers.

Here’s who has been confirmed so far (more acts to be announced)... WITH six UK no.1 singles and four UK Top 10 albums, he’s collaborated with the likes of Sia, Anne-Marie, Justin Bieber, Zara Larsson, Emeli Sande and Rihanna. Some of his best hits include Titanium, Gettin’ Over, When Love Takes Over and Who’s That Chick.

POP-SYNTH trio Years & Years are no strangers when it comes to performing in the Midlands. Since bursting on to the scene with their no.1 single King in 2015, they’ve gone on to become of the most exciting bands in the industry. Fronted by Olly Alexander, they released their second studio album, Palo Santo, this summer and have just embarked on a huge world tour.

CLEAN Bandit have taken the UK charts by storm over the last four years, gaining four UK no.1 singles with Rather Be, Rockabye, Symphony and Solo. The Grammy Award-winning trio are well known for their electronic sound and have teamed up with artists including Demi Lovato, Jess Glynne and Zara Larsson.

FULL of character and stage presence, solo artist Anne-Marie has gained herself an army of fans since she released her single Alarm in 2016. This year the 27-year-old released her debut album, Speak Your Mind, which charted at no.3, and joined Ed Sheeran on his ÷ (Divide) World Stadium Tour.

MABEL may be fairly new to the block after releasing her debut single Finders Keepers in 2017, but she’s emerged as one of the UK’s best up and coming female aritsts. Her hit singles include One Shot, Ring Ring and Fine Line.

Rak-Su became the first all-male group to be crowned winners of ITV’s The X Factor in 2017.

They have toured with former X Factor winners Little Mix, released two singles and performed at Free Radio Hits Live 2018 at Birmingham’s Resorts World Arena.

Showtime Live director Dan Nelmes said: “This music festival is all about offering a range of high calibre acts at a low price.

“People can see seven performances from some of the most in-demand artists in the world, plus a 90-minute headline set from

David Guetta, for the same cost as going to see a gig featuring a couple of artists.

“We’re getting closer to having our full Sunday line-up revealed with two more artists to announce over the next few days.

“We are really proud of the star-studded line-up we have assembled so far.

Justine Hewitt, head of operations at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena, added: “The city is set for a fantastic weekend of music. The calibre of artists on offer is second to none and it’s fast becoming the must-see music festival next year. We can’t wait to see who is booked in to perform on day one!”
