“The Gen­e­sis brand mes­sage — ‘a light unto na­tions’ — was a cen­tral com­po­nent in our de­sign. This theme is present through­out many of the com­po­nents we cre­ated, in­clud­ing the bib­li­cal con­no­ta­tions found in il­lus­tra­tions, el­e­ments such as the sun and moon, and also the use of re­veal­ing an­i­ma­tion ef­fects. How­ever, more lit­er­ally was our use of a flash­light mouse ef­fect, which has been widely com­mented on. This ef­fect is not only an in­ter­pre­ta­tion of the brand state­ment but has helped to em­pha­sise el­e­ments that in­ter­act on mouse move­ment.”
