Anne Walsh Week of environmen­tal action taking place around the village from Monday 6th to Sunday 12th June. Village improvemen­ts will include litter picking and the placing of some new planters and benches. Skips will be available at the Pitstop car park to help clear large items so if you are thinking of getting rid of bulky items, now is the time. If you want help to take stuff to the skips, leave details at the Pitstop. If you have re-usable goods that you’d like to swap contact the Pitstop. All help is welcome. Addiewell Community Centre Monday 3-5pm FairPlay, entry 50p , £1 for dinner; Tuesday 6-8pm, FairPlay entry 50p , sweets and crisps on sale everything only 30p; Wednesday (same as Monday); Thursday (same as Monday); Friday Fun Night, disco, games, pool, computers, bouncy castle and lots more. Entry £1 and dinner £1 from 6pm-8pm. Cans of juice are available to purchase at all groups for 50p and slush drinks available from 50p - £2.20. All kids are welcome at the community centre groups from the village and other villages. New members need to fill out contact sheets and emergency contacts. Pitstop is open Monday-Friday 10am-7pm and Saturday 10am4pm. Soft play available for £2.10 per child. Hot drinks, cold drinks, cakes and snack available. Mike Duncan mduncanded­ridge@hotmail.com Congratula­tions go to James Young High School S6 pupils, Daniel Johnstone and Abbie Wilson who have worked with the Community Learning and Developmen­t Youth Service to achieve the Platinum Youth Achievemen­t Award. They are the first 2 pupils in West Lothian to achieve this award. S4 Summer school pupils are studied for their SVQ Employabil­ity Award during the month of May. As part of this, 16 pupils spent time at the Sky Academy Skills Studio where they created and filmed their own news clip on the topic, cyber bullying.
