Livi Youth teams start season

-

Livingston Rugby Football Club’s Youth Section (S1-U18) were up against East Kilbride as part of Scottish Rugby’s Brown League.

Up first for the weekend was the under-18 side, who lost 34-14 at home. The result doesn’t do justice to Livi’s battling display.

The youngsters came out for the second half in fine form with Cameron Bennett scoring a try, converted by Fraser Paterson, but it wasn’t enough to secure a win in their first game of the season.

The under-15 were always up against it as they lost 77-7 to an impressive East Kilbride team.

Angus Paterson scored Livi’s only try of the game, with Kayne MacAulay adding the conversion. The under-16 side also lost heavily.

But there was a positive result for the S1 and S2 teams as they joined together for a terrific 31-17 victory.

Tries came from Joshua De Mora, Dean Kinghorn, Ross Patterson, and Mason Arthur.

Conversions were added by Jamie Pollock, and Campbell Hogg as they began their season in style.

Livingston Rugby Club are actively looking for S2 boys to join the team.
