Choir set for two nights of concerts
Toccata Ladies Choir are hosting two Evenings of Music next month.
The events will take place on Friday May 5 and Saturday May 6 at Howden Park Centre in Livingston. The group’s annual concert series will include an exciting new programme for the audience’s entertainment.
There will be favourite songs from film and musical with a sprinkling of traditional and contemporary songs. The choir as always is skilfully directed by Eleanor Howat.
The choir has had another busy year, with workshops, singing several Christmas concerts and participating in a charity fundraising concert with some other local groups.
Toccata is a musical term derived from Italian meaning to touch and the choir hope to live up to its name by touching the heart of the audience. There will be something for everyone. The evening begins at 7.30pm. Tickets are £11. For more information visit http://www.toccataladieschoir.co.uk/
Voodoo Room: A Celebration of the Music of Jimi Hendrix and Cream will perform at Howden Park Centre in Livingston. Paying tribute to two of the greatest names in rock history, Jimi Hendrix and Cream, Voodoo Room are a stunning power-trio featuring some of the UK’s finest musicians. Members of the band have played with Ben E. King, Duran Duran, Stevie Winwood, Thunder and Fish to name a few.
A world-class show, put together in total appreciation of two massive pioneers of classic blues and rock, this is not a caricature tribute act. Hear all the classics including Strange Brew, Hey Joe and Purple Haze.
The show is on Saturday, May 20, 7.30pm. Tickets are £15 or £13 for concession.
