Green places must be protected
UKIP believes that our green spaces should be protected.
I think that this is of particular relevance to Linlithgow and would object to any new Green Belt developments within the Linlithgow area. Because I feel that the quality of life for many Linlithgow’s residents is being threatened by pressure from housing developers whose only interest is to extract as much profit as possible, through the covering of our countryside with more and more houses, concrete and tarmac.
Any new developments will bring with them, lots more congestion (and air pollution) and more pressure, on all our, already overstretched, services. Remember that we have to live with it!
Local people must be given priority in the allocation of any local social housing. Also the local community should be given real decision making, to ensure that pressure groups and vested interests do not dictate the way our community could develop.
The Scottish Government’s current policy is to supply housing developers with as many development sites as they possibly can. This is to accommodate, the many additional foreign newcomers that they have decided they want to attract into Scotland.
UKIP wish to have a sensible policy of controlled immigration, to relieve the pressure on our health, education, housing, police and welfare services.
