Jim goes ‘Round the Houses’ in 10k

Lothian Running Club were well represente­d in the Jim Dingwall ‘Round the Houses’10k race at Grangemout­h on Sunday.

The club had a dozen runners among the 620 who set off in glorious weather from Grangemout­h Stadium.

Josh Dack in 21st place was the first blue vest home, completing what was a new course for this year’s race in 34 minutes 08 seconds. Following Josh over the finish line was Colin Partridge who was 53rd in 35.58. N ext home, in 97th place, was Alan Knowles, who recorded a personal best time of 37m 41.

Mhairi Inglis, who was the only LRC female member in the race, came home in 39m 39s to place 142nd overall and 17th in the women’s category.

LRC veteran athlete Mike Lieberman was first over-60 at the Winton Trail 10k held at the Winton Estate at Pentcaitla­nd.

Mike completed the course in 45m 04s which also placed him 36th overall of the 243 finishers. Finishing just ahead of Mike in 29th place was the only other LRC member in the race Brian Reid, his time of 43.56 placed him 4th in the over-50 category.

Lana Turnbull was the first female finisher at the Livingston 5k parkrun for the 23rd time on Saturday morning. Finishing 10th overall Lana led home a big field of 17 LRC runners in 19m 24s.

Parkrun tourist Mel Zobel was first female finisher at the Burnham & Highbrige 5k parkrun, the Lothian runner recorded her quickest ever time for a parkrun finishing 11th overall in 19m 46s.
