Bathgate confirm Jim as manager
Bathgate Thistle have appointed Jim Henderson as their manager for next season after the ex-Armadale coach took charge for a short stint towards the end of the season.
Henderson oversaw Thistle’s 6- 2 victory last Saturday against his old club – when his son John got on the scoresheet twice for Thistle – and has accepted the invitation to get back into management.
Henderson said: “I’m looking forward to the challenge. I was semi-retired and watching John as his parent club had put him out on loan there and they phoned me up and asked me to help them out and I did. “I got the bug back then.” Looking towards next season, Henderson has set his sights on challenging for promotion and returning Thistle to the Superleague. It would be a fine achievement for a team that look set to finish mid-table this year.
He said: “I know they have got a really good setup. Managers have said it in the past but hopefully we can make a challenge and we can get back up into the Superleague.
“They’ve showed over the last few games that they can do that.”
