This Saturday will see the third West Lothian Pride Event taking place in Livingston,

The event aims to provide the people of West Lothian with an opportunity to celebrate and support lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people within our local community.

West Lothian Police have been supporting the organisers in the build -up to this year’s event.

A Pride Village will be based at West Lothian College from 1pm onwards with lots of stalls and activities.

The march itself meets at 1.45pm to set off at 2pm.

Members of Gay Police Association will also be participating in the march, which will go through the town centre and back to the Pride Village.

Police Scotland officers and staff will be on hand within the Pride Village to answers any questions you may have about crime, personal safety and offering crime prevention advice.

While the Pride Event will be a fun day, we also want to raise awareness about hate crime, which occurs when someone is targeted due to sexual orientation, transgender identity, disability, race or religion.

We will be on hand to offer support and advice on hate crime or any topic . . .
