Double whammy for LRC in parkrun
Colin Partidge and Jo Williams in home wins
Lothian Running Club members scored a number of impressive results at various events last week.
The club were represented at nine different parkruns across three countries on Saturday morning.
LRC had runners tackling the 5km courses at Livingston, Edinburgh, Falkirk, Strathclyde and Elgin in Scotland while also having representatives in London, Leicester and Southport and, slightly further afield, at Crissy Head in San Francisco.
It was the local event at Livingston that saw the club have their best results with Colin Partridge and Jo Williams being the first finishers in the male and female categories.
Malcolm Lang ( Falkirk), Josh Dack (Southport), Owen Williams (Livingston) and Robyn McDonald (Crissy Head) all grabbed top-five category results.
Elsewhere within the club, ultrarunner Shona Young finished 12th overall and second female with her time of 4:38.43 in the Run of the Blades 50km race held within the boundaries of Eaglesham Moor.
Hannah Steel continues to show good form on the Highland Games circuit. At the recent Loch Lomond Games held in Balloch, she finished runner- up in the youth 800m handicap race as well as grabbing a third place finish in the 200m youth race.
