Can you give Jamie a home?

-

Animal welfare experts are appealing for a new home for a cat in their care.

Jamie is a four-year-old lad who was taken in by Cats Protection as he had been straying for many months and the lady who had been feeding him over the summer didn’t want him to be out in the winter weather.

His carers say he was miserable when he came in, as he had oil in his coat from hiding under cars, had two broken teeth, sore gums, and he wasn’t neutered or vaccinated.

Now, after a visit and an overnight stay at the vets, Jamie is fit and ready to be rehomed. Unfortunately the vet also found that he has the FIV virus which lowers the cats immunity to fight infections.

This is such a slow acting virus that many cats can enjoy a normal lifespan with no apparent health problems resulting from the virus.

It does however mean he can only be rehomed as an indoor cat. If you would like more information or to meet him and are maybe thinking of making him yours, contact 01506 298107 or use the “Contact us” form on the branch website www.cats.org.uk/ west-lothian and a home visit can easily be arranged.

West Lothian Cats Protection are having a rehoming day on Saturday (November 11) from 1pm to 3pm at Newyearfield Farm Community Centre, Hawk Brae, Livingston and all the cats ready for adoption will be there.
