Miller takes top spot

-

West Lothian Clarion’s Miller Crombie took top honours in the Under-14 Boys’ race at the final round of the Big Tree Campervans Youth Mountain Bike Series in Fife – a win that also saw him clinch top spot in the overall standings.

The sun shone as the riders tackled the tough course at Lochore.

The terrain and a number of wider sections where riders could overtake meant that there was no respite for with the riders setting a ferocious pace.

Having taken a place at the head of the field early on, Miller had to work hard throughout the race to defend his position.

Club-mate Sam Chisholm kept up the pressure throughout the race but conceded top spot to Miller as he settled for second, with Mukyriderz’s Andrew Leinster coming home in third spot on the day and second overall in the series.

A delighted Miller commented afterwards:“That was great fun, but hard work. The other riders were pushing all the way. I’m delighted with the win and in the overall series.”

Clarion were also well represented in other events on the day with a string of impressive rides making for a good event for the club.

Alexander Crombie (under-12 boys), Sarah Darling (under-10 girls), Johnny Darling and Rhuairdh Fulton (under-8 boys) and Harriet Crombie (under-8 girls) were the other Clarion riders to tackle the challenging course.
