Youngsters shine during busy week
It was a busy weekend for Livingston RFC’s youth teams as they battled Whitecraigs as part of the Galant Mitsubishi Conference.
The under-18 side fought hard right until the end but were outdone 34-24 although the positive performance gave the coaching team plenty to be happy with as the team continue to progress. Jamie McGrotty, Kyle Steel and Alex Bruce scored Livi’s tries.
The under-16 outfit never appeared under pressure and eased to a 43-5 victory with tries from Andrew Brown, Adam Martin, Henry Forehand and Andrew Murchison.
Aaron Gregory was the star of the show for the under-15s as his five tries helped his team win 64-9.
Jose Antonios (two), Jamie Russell and Jamie Morrow also scored while Cammy Philp (four) and Kayne MacAulay (three) added conversions.
Under-13 coach Keith Hill said his team’s fresh legs proved the difference in a stunning second half as they stormed to victory, grabbing 10 tries and eight conversions in the process.
Ross Morrison (five), Jamie Wilson (two), Matt Hill, Ryan Boyd and Fraser Worrall grabbed the tries with Boyd also adding two conversions to his name in a fine win.
Isaac Hain (three), Ben Philp (two) and Wilson also kicked two-pointers for Livi.
