Thistle take derby points

- Armadale Th....6 West Calder ....... 3

Armadale Thistle hit neighbours West Calder for six to ensure they took the derby bragging rights with a fine victory.

Remarkably it was the second straight 6-3 loss for the Cauther, and their third successive defeat having gone unbeaten all season before that.

Anthony McLaughlin gave the visitors an early lead before Armadale found the net three times in quick succession prior to the half-time whistle.

Colin Allison opened the scoring for the Jags on 25 minutes before Callum Robertson fired his side into the lead five minutes later after neat work from Liam Gray before he got in on the act himself just before the break.

The hosts continued to set the pace in the second half with Allison grabbing his second on 55 minutes before David Love netted from the spot for West Calder to give them hope of a fightback.

However, Gray restored Thistle’s three goal lead on 82 minutes prior to both sides finding the net in the closing minutes to round off an entertaining contest.

Both sides are in league action at the weekend with United looking to end their run by picking up three points at home to Lochgelly Albert while Armadale Thistle have a tricky away day at Craigroyston.
