Pumpherston extend lead

- Pumpherston...4 Craigroyston ...... 0

Pumpherston extended their lead at the top of the South Division to five points after their victory over Craigroyston was coupled with Edinburgh United suffering their first defeat of the season.

A goal from prolific striker Ally McRitichie, who is tallying more than a goal a game this term, were added to by Derek Shaw, Neil Hastings and Mark Wilkins as the hosts sealed a comprehensive victory over the visitors.

Pumphy had gone into the clash with a two point advantage at the summit but that was extended as Crossgates Primrose scored a surprising 3-1 victory away in the capital as Edinburgh United were cast aside.

West Calder’s loss at Armadale also means they sit seven points clear of the Cauther who sit just outside the promotion places.

It’s been a remarkable run from Craig Martin’s side who have followed up their opening day loss to West Calder with nine wins and two defeats.

Pumpherston will be hoping they can take their impressive league form into the East of Scotland Cup as they travel to Lochee United, who are sitting second in the Superleague table.
