Groups get fund­ing

West Loth­ian Coun­cil has al­lo­cated over £ 45,000 to help three lo­cal vol­un­tary or­gan­i­sa­tions im­prove and in­crease their ser­vices. Coun­cil Ex­ec­u­tive has al­lo­cated ad­di­tional funds from the £ 200,000 Third Sec­tor Am­bi­tion Fund to Vic­tim Sup­port, Ci­ti­zens Ad­vice Bureau and Sign­post. A pre­vi­ous ap­pli­cant was un­able to take their award due to not be­ing able to se­cure the nec­es­sary match fund­ing else­where, so the funds have been al­lo­cated to help other groups. Coun­cil leader, Lawrence Fitz­patrick, said he is pleased the coun­cil has been able to pro­vide money for more groups. He added: “I’m pleased that we are able to help three lo­cal vol­un­tary groups fur­ther im­prove on their ex­ist­ing good work.” Vic­tim Sup­port wi l l re­ceive £13,985 to im­prove ac­ces­si­bil­ity for those af­fected by crime in West Loth­ian. Ci­ti­zens Ad­vice Bureau West Loth­ian will use their £19,862 to em­ploy a Vol­un­teer De­vel­op­ment Worker. Sign­post’s £12,588 fund­ing will al­low them to em­ploy a part-time Fam­ily Sup­port Worker to meet ris­ing de­mand for sup­port.
