Groups get funding
West Lothian Council has allocated over £ 45,000 to help three local voluntary organisations improve and increase their services. Council Executive has allocated additional funds from the £ 200,000 Third Sector Ambition Fund to Victim Support, Citizens Advice Bureau and Signpost. A previous applicant was unable to take their award due to not being able to secure the necessary match funding elsewhere, so the funds have been allocated to help other groups. Council leader, Lawrence Fitzpatrick, said he is pleased the council has been able to provide money for more groups. He added: “I’m pleased that we are able to help three local voluntary groups further improve on their existing good work.” Victim Support wi l l receive £13,985 to improve accessibility for those affected by crime in West Lothian. Citizens Advice Bureau West Lothian will use their £19,862 to employ a Volunteer Development Worker. Signpost’s £12,588 funding will allow them to employ a part-time Family Support Worker to meet rising demand for support.
