MSP backs campaign

-

A West Lothian MSP has given her support to Mental Health Awareness Week.

Research shows that two-thirds of people will suffer a mental health problem at some point in their lives and stress is a key factor in this.

Angela Constance, MSP for Almond Valley said:“Mental health is a cause close to my heart. Before being elected as an MSP, I was a social worker and a mental health worker which means I know the importance of having the right services at the right time in the right place. Mental health shouldn’t be treated as a taboo subject and there’s lots that we can do to support each other. It’s important to eat properly, exercise and stay active and to ask for help when we need it. Being able to talk to someone can help you cope with stress and the problems which are affecting you.”
