Ap­peal over Bath­gate break in EN­VI­RON­MENT

Po­lice in West Loth­ian are ap­peal­ing for in­for­ma­tion fol­low­ing a house­break­ing and theft in Bath­gate.

The in­ci­dent hap­pened at around 11pm last Wed­nes­day (May 9) at an ad­dress in the Inchcross Park area.

The house­hold­ers re­turned home to find three men in their prop­erty.

En­try had been forced to the rear of the house and a num­ber of items were taken, in­clud­ing cash and jewellery.

The sus­pects are de­scribed as male and were seen to drive off from the area in a red Ford Fi­esta ve­hi­cle.

Of­fi­cers are now ap­peal­ing for in­for­ma­tion and any­one who can help with on­go­ing in­quiries is asked to come for­ward.

Con­sta­ble Shaun Con­way f rom West L oth­ian’s Com­mu­nity In­ves­ti­ga­tion Unit said: “This was a fright­en­ing ex­pe­ri­ence for the home­own­ers who re­turned to the prop­erty to find three in­trud­ers in­side.

“I would ap­peal to any­one who saw any sus­pi­cious be­hav­iour, or who wit­nessed the red ve­hi­cle in the area on Wed­nes­day evening, to come for­ward and con­tact of­fi­cers.

“Equally any­one with in­for­ma­tion that can help trace those re­spon­si­ble is asked to get in touch.”
