Unique Monty makes friends so quickly

Lurcher’s home call

- Marjorie Kerr

A lively pooch is appealing for a new place to call home.

Monty is a handsome four-yearold blue merle Lurcher, based at Dogs Trust in West Calder.

This unique-looking dog arrived at the centre in April as a stray.

A spokesperson for Dogs Trust said: “With a personality and nature as beautiful as his looks he is hoping that he will find his perfect match soon and be able to relax in a home he can call his very own. Monty makes friends quickly and adores spending time with you, he may even try and sit on your knee for a snuggly cuddle.

“He enjoys his time best when spent with people he loves and his favourite thing to do is play in the garden and have a fun game of fetch or go out and explore the great outdoors on a long walk with his special someone.

“Monty is an active boy who benefits from mental and physical stimulation, such as different types of exercise, games and learning new tricks to keeps his mind busy and satisfied.”

The spokesperson said Monty ‘s new owner could introduce him to new activities.

But they must be at home with him most of the time.

The spokesperson said: “He might also enjoy trying new exciting things like hillwalking or agility. This energetic boy is looking for a strong owner who will enjoy being active with Monty.

“Monty can be unhappy when left alone and is looking for someone who can be at home most of the day to help settle him into his new home.”

He can live with children around the age of 14 and above and is okay with some dogs.

If you think youcould be a perfect match for Monty and offer him or any of the other 50 dogs at the rehoming centre a home, please contact 01506 873459.
