Livingston Village Community Education Centre Associatio­n we are a Community centre based within Livingston Village Primary School and operate solely for the benefit of providing educationa­l/sporting and recreation­al activities for local residents. We are a completely voluntary organisati­on. We are pleased to be able to announce that we have launched a new website, to manage bookings and enquiries for our rooms. We currently have a range of activities on offer including ‘Little Villagers’ before and after school care, Parent and Toddlers, Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Yoga, Karate, Enjoy-a-Ball, Caterpilla­r Music, plus:

Over 50’s Club come along on a Wed Afternoon ( 1.30-3.30 pm) and play table tennis, dominoes and other games, or have a chat over a cup of tea or coffee. All welcome. Tel Bruce on 01506 494347

Activities held in Community Wing of Livingston Primary School: Community Playgroups Livingston Village Mon to Friday 9.15-11.30 for children aged 2 years plus. A small friendly playgroup with qualified staff, following the pre-birth to 3 curriculum. A great first step into early years, a great step for nursery. Cost per session is £7 including a healthy snack. 19th Livingston Brownies Meet on Mondays from 6.45pm to 8.15pm - open to any girl aged between 7 and 10. For further informatio­n contact Pam on 0779628430­5. Dance Classes Fun dance classes for children aged 3 upwards are held every Thursday 5.30-6.15pm cheerleadi­ng/what’s hot and 6.15-7.00pm hip hop. Parents and Toddlers Livingston Village Parents and Toddlers Group meet on Monday and Wednesday from 9.00-11.00am. All pre-school age children welcome, accompanie­d by an adult.

Swim West Lothian Lessons Programme We now have three venues that we offer our Learn to Swim Lessons. James young High School - Friday afternoons from 1-4.30pm Armadale Academy - Saturday morning 10.30-12.15 and Deans Community High School - Saturday mornings from 10.30-12.15. Classes to suit all abilities - we offer lessons for 49 weeks a year from preschool upwards to adult. We also do Rookie Lifeguard classes which have proved popular. Aquanauts Livingston Swimming Club Has spaces for beginners up to personal survival level. We teach at West Calder High School on a Monday evening and Inveralmon­d CHS on a Thursday evening. Livingston Cricket Club Runs indoor practices for 6-9 year olds 5 to 6pm on a Wednesday and practices for 10-14 year olds 6-7pm on a Wednesday. Practices are held at Deans High School Livingston. SMART meetings SMART stands for Self Management and Recovery Training and aims to help individual­s gain control over their addictive behaviours through peer led mutual aid meetings. If you are trying to abstain from an addictive behaviour come along and join us at St. Johns Hospital (psychology dept.) on a Thursday evening from 6.15 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. You will be met with a warm welcome, tea or coffee and the opportunit­y to discuss and learn from issues for a healthy recovery. 29th Scout Group’s Beaver Scout section has spaces for both boys and girls aged between 6 and 8 years old. We meet on Wednesdays from 6.30 to 7.30 pm in Toronto Primary School and offer a wide range of fun games, crafts, outings, friendship, badges, awards and a chance to learn and try new things. Simply come along on a Wednesday night or call Gavin Johnston on 01501 773519 if you need more informatio­n.

Eliburn Parent and Toddler Group meets every Wednesday (term time) 1.30 – 2.30pm at the Free Church of Scotland, Jackson Place, Eliburn. All babies, pre-school children and parents/carers welcome.
