Please note that this year there WILL NOT be a house to house col­lec­tion by Kirk of Calder. In­stead, ev­ery­one is in­vited to come into Kirk of Calder dur­ing that week to see a dis­play of the work be­ing done by Chris­tian Aid to sup­port the poor­est in the de­vel­op­ing world. Should you wish to make a do­na­tion, you can do so when you visit, or, take an en­ve­lope and re­turn it later in the week. In ad­di­tion to the Sun­day ser­vice that week the Church will be open Mon­day to Fri­day morn­ings from 10 till 12 noon and Mon­day to Thurs­day evenings from 6.30 till 7.30. Youth groups are also be­ing en­cour­aged to visit the Church to find out about the work of Chris­tian Aid. There will also be a con­cert for Chris­tian Aid in the Church on Fri­day 18th May at 7.30pm fea­tur­ing singers Ibiyemi Osi­naike and Me­gan Black. Tick­ets cost­ing £5 are avail­able now from the Church. Bot­tle Bank Com­pe­ti­tion Re­cy­cle your glass dur­ing the “Mid Calder Chil­dren’s Gala Day” and raise money for next year’s event! The bot­tle banks at Al­mondell Coun­try Park will be as­sessed by WLC so that ev­ery bit of glass placed in them dur­ing the week be­fore and the week af­ter 2nd June 2018, will be counted and will re­sult in a pay­ment to your Gala Com­mit­tee. The more YOU re­cy­cle the big­ger the pay­ment for your gala next year! Mid Calder Boys’ Brigade meets in the Gle­nal­mond Church Hall on Fri­day nights. Places are avail­able for all age groups:- An­chors P1 to P2, 6.30pm - 7.30pm, Ju­niors P3 - P6 and Com­pany Sec­tion P7 and older, 7.30pm - 9.00pm . Mid Calder Com­mu­nity Coun­cil hold their monthly meet­ings on the first Thurs­day of the month at 7.30pm in The Gle­nal­mond Church Hall. The next meet­ing will be on Thurs­day 7th June at 7.30pm. We usu­ally meet in the church to start with, then go down to the hall for songs, games, sto­ries and fun. Ei­ther come along or make con­tact through the Kirk’s Face­book page if you would like to en­rol your child; we would be de­lighted to see chil­dren from 3 years up­wards. Mid Calder Tod­dler Group meets on Tues­days and Thurs­days from 9am to 11am in the In­sti­tute Hall, Mar­ket Street, Mid Calder If any par­ent/ carer has a ‘hid­den tal­ent’ you wish to share with the ba­bies/tod­dlers please speak to a com­mit­tee mem­ber at Tod­dlers or con­tact us through our Face­book page. It could be crafts or singing/danc­ing - don’t be shy - we need your help.

Yoga Classes are held in the Ma­sonic Hall on Wed­nes­day evenings from 7.30 - 9pm. These are in­for­mal classes and all lev­els wel­come. Call Linda on 01506 884115 or 07742 063080 for more in­for­ma­tion.

Fair­trade Cafe wel­comes any­one who would like to join us on a Tues­day morn­ing be­tween 10am and 12 noon in the Gle­nal­mond Hall where home bak­ing is on sale and all funds raised go to street chil­dren of Peru c/o the Vine Trust. Come along and help us to pro­mote fair trade and make new friends. The Fair Trade café is run by the Kirk of Calder.

Cloth­ing bank is si­t­u­ated to the front of the Gle­nal­mond Hall. Please bring any good qual­ity clean clothes, belts, paired shoes, ties, hand­bags (in a bag) and place in the re­cy­cling bank. Liv’n Har­mony Singers is an adult choir with a difference. Meets on a Thurs­day evening 7.30pm to 9.30pm in the Black Bull, Mid Calder where the em­pha­sis is on fun and laugh­ter as much as singing. Liv’n Har­moneez Kids and Teen Choir is an ex­cit­ing choir which meets on Thurs­day nights in The Black Bull Func­tion Suite, Mid Calder. Run­ning from 6.10pm to 7.10pm and led by lo­cal Mu­sic Teacher, Al­li­son Barr this prom­ises to be a choir full of fun and laugh­ter as well as learn­ing skills in singing and vo­cal pro­duc­tion.
