Rangers player helps Blackburn Boys celebrate a fine ‘88 season
Blackburn Boys’ Club under-10s celebrated their fine 1988 season with a presentation dance held at Blackburn Bowling Club.
The awards were presented by Rangers FC footballer John Brown - and he posed for a picture with all the players for the May 27 edition of the Courier.
It was a hugely successful season for the club, who were the region’s five-a-side winners as well as league runners-up.
Player of the Year was Barry Lindsay, Players’ Player of the Year award went to Colin Hendry while Gerard O’Hara was the team’s top goalscorer.
Kenneth Curle was voted most improved player while Michael Slevin and Alan Aitken were also recognised for their achievements.
