Rangers player helps Black­burn Boys cel­e­brate a fine ‘88 sea­son

Black­burn Boys’ Club un­der-10s cel­e­brated their fine 1988 sea­son with a pre­sen­ta­tion dance held at Black­burn Bowl­ing Club.

The awards were pre­sented by Rangers FC foot­baller John Brown - and he posed for a picture with all the play­ers for the May 27 edi­tion of the Courier.

It was a hugely suc­cess­ful sea­son for the club, who were the re­gion’s five-a-side win­ners as well as league run­ners-up.

Player of the Year was Barry Lind­say, Play­ers’ Player of the Year award went to Colin Hendry while Ger­ard O’Hara was the team’s top goalscorer.

Ken­neth Curle was voted most im­proved player while Michael Slevin and Alan Aitken were also recog­nised for their achieve­ments.
