Hot rod win for Sneddon

-

The classic hot rod drivers treated stock car fans to some close and fast racing at Cowdenbeath.

Local drivers in the event were Brett Sneddon of Linlithgow and Jock Campbell from Kirkliston, both driving Escorts.

Sneddon won the opening heat with Campbell in fourth place In heat two and in the final, Sneddon had to settle for the runner-up spot while Campbell moved up the rankings to third place.

Willie Mitchell (East Calder) and Ross Forrest (Livingston) were both in action in the two litre national saloons, with Mitchell coming home in seventh spot in the final while Forrest crashed out in heat two.

Colin Forbes of Broxburn had a mixed night, with his Formula II finishing in fifth place in the challenge heat but then failing to crack the top 10 in the meeting proper.

This Saturday both the Formula II and the two litre national saloon drivers are missing and the ORCi Stock Rods take top billing along with the 1300 saloons, the Prostock basic drivers and the 1800 national bangers. Racing starts at 6pm.
