The main Men
West Calder and District Darts League held their Three Person Team Competition recently.
The format sees all three players play a single 501 leg followed by a double 501 leg. If the scores are still tied, the decider would be a 1001 leg triple.
There were some excellent match-ups, with both semis and the final requiring the final leg decider.
The quarter-finals saw wins for Grand Central Railroaders, Volunteer Highway Men‘A’, Commercial Inn Nomads and Loganlea Colliers‘A’.
Grand Central faced Volunteer with the latter holding their nerve in the fifth leg, while it was a similar situation for Loganlea who were forced to fight all the way to pick up the win at the expense of Commercial Inn.
The final was once again in need of a fifth leg with the teams tied at 2-2 after four.
So after three hours of darts, it was down to a deciding 1001 triples leg to see who would win the title.
The Highway Men of Jim Mitchell, Martin Deegan and Colin Robertson were the ones celebrating when it was all said and done at the expense of the unlucky Colliers trio of John Brogan, Stuart Russell and Boris Mackie.
Congratulations to the Volunteer Highway Men on their victory.
