Borland in World Trophy bid

-

East Calder’s William Borland has qualified for the BDO World Trophy later this month.

Borland, who has been in terrific form this season, faces some stiff opposition from players across the United Kingdom and is one of only two Scots to have made the 32 man field at the Preston Guild Hall.

The event will be played over five days, starting on Wednesday, May 30.

In local league play, the Bathgate League held an open singles event which saw Armadale’s Mick Burke from the Corrie Bar taking the title.

He just got the better of Rab Dick from the Kirknewton Innkeepers in a thrilling final that was decided in the seventh and final leg.

The two beaten semi-finalists were Ricky McDonald from Fauldhouse and Colin Maxwell of Armadale.
