Goal-shy Jags are final foes
Partick Thistle’s victory over Dundee in the final Premiership game of the season meant they will provide the opposition for Livingston in the play-off final.
The Jags have had a disappointing season after a top-six finish the previous year.
The two sides faced each other in the first game of the season – a League Cup clash at the Tony Macaroni Arena which ended in a 1-1 draw, with the Lions prevailing on penalties.
It was considered a major shock at the time but in hindsight was perhaps a sign of things to come from both teams.
Alan Archibald’s men have been struggling to find the net all season, scoring a Premiership low 31 goals in 38 games.
Their away form was particularly poor with just two wins from 19 games – with only 11 goals to their name away from Firhill so a home win on Thursday night appears to be a strong possibility.
Kris Doolan is the club’s top scorer on 10 for the season, notching double figures for the club for an eighth successive term.
Despite finishing second-bottom, they lost just one of their five post-split fixtures, claiming eight points.
