Livingston Fi r s t X I maintained their unbeaten run win a sixth consecutive victory thanks to an away win at St Boswells.

Livi won the toss and made the wise decision to put the home side in to bat on a very wet wicket. The batsmen struggled with the pace of the Livingston attack and were bowled out for just 91.

Travis Chandler, Mark Peachey and Fahad Ahmed took two wickets apiece.

In reply, the batsmen needed only 21 overs to reach their target and only lost three wickets in the process. Jamie Casley top-scored with 36 not out.

Livingston Second XI were at home to Dunnikier Second XI and despite winning the toss and electing to bat, the weather got the upper hand and the match was eventually cancelled due to rain.

The home side did manage to reach 153 before the heavens opened, with opening bat Jim Wilson hitting 46 and debutant Abinav Singla impressing with 45.

Livingston Third XI started their Development League campaign with a visit to Royal High Corstorphine and secured a close victory, reaching the target of 117 with four balls to spare.

This weekend, the First XI are at home to Carlton Third XI with the Second XI travelling to Kirk Brae.

The First XI are also in midweek cup action as they are away from home against Drummond Trinity in the Braw Skelp T20 cup.

Elsewhere, Linlithgow travelled to face Stewarts Melville but were unable to return with maximum points as they suffered a five-wicket defeat.

Progress was slow for the Linlithgow batsmen but opener John Strachan handled the conditions better than most to tally 57. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t have much support as they made a modest score of 150-8.

In response, the bowlers made early inroads but the hosts simply proved too strong as they chased down the target with just under 10 overs to spare.

The Second XI had the week off as they weren’t in action – they sit in fifth place in Division Four and travel to Watsonians Third XI.

Fauldhouse fell to secondbottom in Division Two after the suffered a 74-run defeat at home to Mazars Grange Third XI.

The visitors batted first and scored 162-3 from their 40 overs following some tight bowling from Vics.

However, in their chase, they were dismissed for 88 after 26.2 overs. They’ll be looking to pick up a win away to Leith FAB on Saturday.
