Craig makes summer move
Livingston announced their first new arrival of the summer as Craig Sibbald made the switch from Falkirk.
The 23-year-old had made 274 appearances for his hometown club, having made his debut at the age of 16, but opted to sign a two year deal with the Lions.
In a show of intent from Livi, the midfielder will be handed the number 10 jersey at the club.
David Martindale, caretaker manager, said the new arrival will be a ‘huge asset’as they aim to compete in the Premiership next term.
He commented:“We are absolutely delighted to have secured the services of Craig, and I genuinely think he will be a huge asset to Livingston FC.
“We have been tracking him for a number of years and I’m thrilled we have now enticed him to the Tony Macaroni Arena. He was always a player we tried to keep quiet when playing against Falkirk as we felt he had that natural ability to change games on his own.”
He added:“Technically Craig is a fantastic footballer and we really look forward to helping him develop his career at Livingston.
“You won’t find many 23-year-olds with over 200 Championship games under their belt.
“We always felt he could play Premiership football and it just shows the strides Livingston FC has made in that we can offer that to Craig as an incentive for a player of his quality.”
During his time with the Bairns, Sibbald - the younger brother of West Calder United boss Gary - netted the winner in both the quarter-final and semi-finals as the Bairns reached the 2014-15 Scottish Cup final.
