Fix­tures out for East of Scot­land

West Loth­ian’s three East of Scot­land Foot­ball League teams know who they’ll be fac­ing on the open­ing day of the sea­son af­ter the fix­tures were re­leased ear­lier this week.

Black­burn United, Brox­burn Ath­letic and Lin­lith­gow Rose all made the switch from the Ju­niors to se­nior over the course of the sum­mer and will now be part of the SPFL pyra­mid sys­tem.

All three teams will play in Con­fer­ence C of the 2018/19 East of Scot­land sea­son, with the top five teams in all three con­fer­ences then form­ing the Premier League for the fol­low­ing sea­son.

The win­ners of each con­fer­ence will play in a round robin com­pe­ti­tion for the right to play off against the South of Scot­land League cham­pi­ons, with the vic­tor then be­ing pro­moted to the Low­land League.

Brox­burn Ath­letic’s first Con­fer­ence C fix­ture is an away trip to Camelon on Tues­day, Au­gust 14 (7pm).

Lin­lith­gow Rose be­gin their bid for pro­mo­tion the fol­low­ing day away at In­verkei­thing Hill­field Swifts, al­though that is sub­ject to change should the Rose be drawn in the Scot­tish Cup Pre­lim­i­nary Round and that game sub­se­quently goes to a re­play.

Black­burn United’s first league fix­ture is away to Pre­ston Ath­letic on Tues­day, Au­gust 21.

The first home league games for all three teams fall on Sat­ur­day, Au­gust 25.

Black­burn host Craigroys­ton, Brox­burn take on Or­mis­ton and Lin­lith­gow face Stir­ling Univer­sity.

The sea­son kicks off on July 28 with the East of Scot­land Qual­i­fy­ing League.

United travel to Ar­niston Rangers in Sec­tion A with Lin­lith­gow Rose mak­ing the trip to Cross­gates Rose in a Sec­tion C fix­ture.

B rox­burn At h l e t i c host a fel­low East Re­gion Superleague side from last term in their Sec­tion G clash with Dun­don­ald Blue­bell.
