Last weekend we welcomed Dundee to the Tony Macaroni Arena, the first time we’ve played them in the top flight since that incredible last-day shoot-out in 2005 when a draw sent Dundee to Division One and spared us.

The next season we followed Dundee down though, having amassed a measly total of 18 points from our 38 games.

Amazingly 12 years later and on our return to the Premiership, our 4 - 0 win against them meant we have already equaled that tally after only nine games.

To put that into perspective – in what was arguably this club’s finest ever season when we finished 3rd in our debut season in the top flight, we had 16 points from our opening nine games.

Four set-pieces was the undoing of Dundee, one of many strengths we have.

Our golden trio of Gallagher, Halkett and Lithgow grabbed three of the four goals along with Stevie Lawless in the rout. Incredibly, the trio have now scored more goals in the seven league games they have played together than what they have conceded.

Six clean sheets in nine league games and only five goals conceded is another record to be proud of. As it stands we have the tightest defence in the top flight – perhaps Alex McLeish should start paying attention to our players?

With the win over Dundee equalling our longest unbeaten run in the Premiership (eight), if we can remain undefeated against St Johnstone on Wednesday we will break another record.
