Col­lege is praised by fund­ing bosses TASTY TREATS

A re­port from the Scot­tish Fund­ing Coun­cil has shown that West Loth­ian Col­lege has one of the high­est rates in the coun­try of stu­dents mov­ing onto pos­i­tive des­ti­na­tions.

Col­lege Leaver Des­ti­na­tions 2016-17 Re­port high­lights that the col­lege’s stu­dents have the high­est rate of pos­i­tive des­ti­na­tions ( 97.3 per cent) of all other col­lege re­gions out­side of Glas­gow, and the low­est rate of neg­a­tive des­ti­na­tions (1.8 per cent) of all col­lege re­gions.

De­lighted West Loth­ian Col­lege prin­ci­pal, Jackie Gal­braith said: “We wel­come the find­ings of the re­port from the Scot­tish Fund­ing Coun­cil.

“At West Loth­ian Col­lege our pur­pose is to equip stu­dents with the skills and knowl­edge that will help them be suc­cess­ful in what­ever they choose to do when they leave, whether that’s con­tin­u­ing their ed­u­ca­tion at uni­ver­sity or get­ting a job.”

Prin­ci­pal Gal­braith added: “The re­port shows that we are de­liv­er­ing on this and we will con­tinue to work hard to im­prove the learn­ing ex­pe­ri­ence of all of our stu­dents.”
