The Remembrance Day Parade will meet at Cunigar House Sheltered Housing Complex, Avenue Park, Mid Calder at 10am and walk to the Kirk. After the service, wreaths will be laid at the war memorial opposite the Church. Anyone who wishes may walk in the parade and the organisers would be delighted to see and welcome as many people as possible especially in this centenary year marking the end of the First World War. Kirk of Calder is holding a fun event for families in the Glenalmond Church Hall on Sunday 18th November from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. Messy Church is for mums, dads, grandparents and children. Crafts, music, games stories and a light meal are offered free of cost. Presentations will be followed by a Cabaret Night featuring Liz Sloan.
Mid Calder Gala Committee are holding a Race Night in Mid Calder Bowling Club on Saturday 17th November from 7pm until midnight. Enjoy an evening with the ponies, greyhounds and pigs. Place your bets, cheer on your horse and hopefully enjoy your winnings. Tickets: £10 includes one free entry to the raffle and buffet.Bets are £1 each. Fancy owning a horse on the night? Soccer School is on a Monday night 6pm till 7pm on the main Livingston Football Club park inside the Stadium Almondvale Stadium This is a fantastic facility for the kids and a great experience for them also. Kirk of Calder Sunday School Sunday Stars and the Mini Kirks meet in the Glenalmond Hall on Sundays from 10.30am till 11.30am. We usually meet in the church to start with, then go down to the hall for songs, games, stories and fun. Either come along or make contact through the Kirk’s Facebook page if you would like to enrol your child; we would be delighted to see children from 3 years upwards. Come and join our happy family.
Mid Calder Toddler Group meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 11am in the Institute Hall, Market Street, Mid Calder If any parent/ carer has a ‘hidden talent’ you wish to share with the babies/toddlers please speak to a committee member at Toddlers or contact us through our Facebook page.
