- Staff reporter

Howden Park Centre in Livingston is hosting a specialist printmaking exhibition.

Scottish artist Murray Robertson brings ‘Stravaig, Stravaiger, Stravaigen’to West Lothian from Friday, November 9, to Sunday, April 28.

Murray studied at Glasgow School of Art and continues to live and work in Glasgow.

His work integrates traditional fine art printmaking along with research, development and application of new technologies, specifically digital imaging and printing.

This show is a collection of iconographic images and ideas that are used to explore ancient myths, history, geology and environment of the Scottish landscape and the human psyche.

Robertson is seeking to engage viewers to question their ideas of the natural world by allowing oneself to ‘stravaig’or‘roam’, be a‘stravaiger’and take a‘stravaigen’through image and concept.

He works with subjects using imagery collected from textbooks on natural history, early and contemporary printed maps, scientific/technological imagery and cultural icons.

Robertson is also a master-printer at Glasgow Print Studio where he manages the digital imaging suite.

The exhibition is open Monday to Friday, from 9am until close, and Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm. Entry is free.
