Robbie Feeney netted twice as Bathgate Thistle jumped into third place in the East Premier League South table.

It was the Jags’first away league win of the campaign, coming at the sixth attempt.

However, there could be no arguments that they didn’t deserve to take all three points.

The visitors took the lead in rather fortuitous circumstances midway through the first half when a strike on goal was deflected by Newburgh’s Sean MacBride with the ball looping over his keeper and into the net.

Thistle again got the rub of the green when Harris Lambert missed a able to double their advantage just before the half-time interval when Jack Beaumont fired home from the edge of the box.

The match was all but over just before the hour mark when Lee Fairley got on the end of a Barry Nicholson corner-kick to head Pumphy into a three-goal lead.

Zander Murray then had a say in the final three goals, firstly teeing up Mark Wilkins before the hosts hit a quick-fire double in the space of a minute to complete the rout , with Nicholson getting on the end of Murray’s pass before the striker finally got the goal he deserved.
