Christmas Hamper tickets are now available to buy at Personal Design Studio, Toni’s, Black Bull, Tap Shop, and the Post Office. Priced £1 each, these are a fund raiser for the Children’s Gala Day and the draw for the winner will be made on the night of the Torchlight Procession, Saturday 1st December. Mid Calder Gala Committee is hosting a Prosecco Afternoon Tea at 2pm on Saturday 24th November in the Black Bull Inn. Enjoy sumptuous sandwiches, scones with a glass of sparkly all for £12! Funds raised for this event go to Mid Calder Children’s Gala. Tickets available from Gala Committee members or on the Gala Facebook page. Mid Calder Bowling Club Presentati­ons will be held in the Club House at 7pm on Saturday 24th November. Presentati­ons will be followed by a Cabaret Night featuring Liz Sloan.

Mid Calder Children’s Gala Presents the annual Christmas Torchlight Procession. Join us on Saturday 1st December to celebrate the beginning of the Festive Season. There will be a Carol Service at the Kirk of Calder at 6pm. We will then meet outside the Kirk for the Torchlight Procession led by Santa and his Sleigh at about 6.30pm. The procession will proceed to the village for the Tree Lighting. Afterwards the children can visit Santa in his Grotto in the Institute Hall and attend the drawing of the Gala Royal Court for 2019. Refreshmen­ts of mulled wine, hot chocolate and mince pies can be enjoyed. We will also draw the winner of the Christmas Hamper. Many thanks to the Community Council for providing the refreshmen­ts and their continued support, Real flame torches will be available on the night at a cost of £1. Children’s glowsticks will be available for a small donation. Mid Calder Gala Presents Santa’s Sleigh Ride. He will stop to see children at specific points where someone will be holding a ‘Santa stop here’ sign. Please gather at these points. Mid Calder Community Council hold their monthly meetings on the first Thursday of the month at 7.30pm in The Glenalmond Church Hall. The next meeting will be Thursday 6th December at 7.30pm. Mid Calder Colts Soccer School is on a Monday night on the main Livingston Football Club park inside the Stadium Almondvale Stadium This is a fantastic facility for the kids and a great experience for them also. Kirk of Calder Sunday School Sunday Stars and the Mini Kirks meet in the Glenalmond Hall on Sundays from 10.30am till 11.30am. We usually meet in the church to start with, then go down to the hall for songs, games, stories and fun. Either come

Mid Calder Toddler Group meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 11am in the Institute Hall, Market Street, Mid Calder If any parent/ carer has a ‘hidden talent’ you wish to share with the babies/toddlers please speak to a committee member at Toddlers or contact us through our Facebook page. It could be crafts or singing/dancing - don’t be shy - we need your help.

Fairtrade Cafe welcomes anyone who would like to join us on a Tuesday morning between 10am and 12 noon in the Glenalmond Hall where home baking is on sale and all funds raised go to street children of Peru c/o the Vine Trust. Come along and help us to promote fair trade and make new friends. The Fair Trade café is run by the Kirk of Calder.

Clothing bank is situated to the front of the Glenalmond Hall. Please bring any good quality clean clothes, belts, paired shoes, ties, handbags (in a bag) and place in the recycling bank. Liv’n Harmony Singers is an adult choir with a difference. Meets on a Thursday evening 7.30pm to 9.30pm in the Black Bull, Mid Calder where the emphasis is on fun and laughter as much as singing.
