Lin­lith­gow and District 41 Club cel­e­brated the grand old age of 50 years by hold­ing a Char­ter Din­ner at Lin­lith­gow Golf Club to mark the oc­ca­sion. The din­ner, hosted by club chair­man Gor­don Smith, was added to by the pres­ence of vis­i­tors from Bo’ness, Bath­gate and Falkirk 41

Clubs as well as the na­tional pres­i­dent, Phil El­lis. Lin­lith­gow Round Ta­ble, from whom 41 Club de­rives most of its mem­ber­ship was also well rep­re­sented. The speak­ers, ex-Provost Jim Car­lin, re­tired busi­ness­man Mike Wheat­ley and ex-Scot­land foot­baller Don­ald Ford ex­celled in their speeches and the evening was fur­ther en­hanced by the dul­cet tones of the Lin­lith­gow Rugby Club Choir. The qual­ity of the pur­vey pro­vided by the golf club’s own caterer was much ap­pre­ci­ated and “A thor­oughly en­joy­able and mem­o­rable evening” was the over­whelm­ing con­sen­sus of the oc­ca­sion.
