Centre sends out toy SOS

-

The Centre Livingston is calling on shoppers to take part in its toy donation appeal for the second year to provide gifts for local children’s charity, River Kids, to distribute to some of West Lothian’s most disadvantaged children.

Shoppers are being invited to drop off new toys, any shape or size for children of all ages, at the Customer Service Desk which will be wrapped by the management team.

The shopping centre has teamed up with local charity River Kids, which was set up in 2005 by Wendy Simpson, to collect the gifts on December 17 and have them delivered to children in the community in time for Christmas.

The charity has been supplying toys, clothes and necessities to children and families in need throughout West Lothian since 2005 including people with disabilities, on low income and the homeless.

Ashley Bisland, deputy centre director said:“We are delighted to team up with River Kids charity again to collect as many gifts as possible in the run up to Christmas for local children in the community.”

Wendy Simpson, Founder of River Kids, added:“It is fantastic to have support again this year from The Centre which will help to ensure that all 2000 children referred to us this year will have a Christmas to remember.

“We are hugely appreciative and can’t thank them enough.”
