The action starts at 12 noon with a whole range of activities at the community centre. We’ve got children’s entertaine­rs, funfair, walkabout characters, face painting, live music and more! We’ll once again have a fabulous Christmas Market supporting our local organisati­ons and businesses. A great opportunit­y to get lots of Christmas gifts AND shop local at the same time! Unlimited ride wristbands for the kids are now on sale at the community centre. Adults and under 1s go free. The Santa Parade will leave the community centre at 4.15pm and make its way down to the town plaza at the cross for the switching on of the Christmas tree lights. We’re then going back up the hill for more entertainm­ent right through to 7.30pm! Come and join in the fun! East Whitburn Community Centre There are two types of karate going on in the centres main hall on different days one is East Whitburn Karate which takes in competitio­n and traditiona­l karate affiliated to the Scottish Karate Federation.The other is Lothian Karate Centre run by myself this is Fit Kids Karate this a mixture of fitness and traditiona­l martial arts non comparativ­e. East Whitburn Karate is on Tuesdays and Thursday evenings 6.30pm to 9pm both nights and Lothian Fit Kids Karate is on Mondays and Wednesdays 7pm to 8pm both nights, Yoga Classes run Monday morning and Wednesday evening. There is also 50+ Keep fit on Thursday morning. K9 Handlers dog training on Friday evening and Football Buzz on Saturday morning. The main hall although busy most nights is available most daytime hours up till 6pm and we also have a lesser hall and meeting room to let out the lesser hall is available every evening at the moment. Scout Post Whitburn Scout Group will once again be running its Christmas card delivery service. This will be the 33rd year of the service. Cards can be posted at the following shops from Saturday 1 December : Hairport Hair Studio, East Whitburn; Gothenburg, East Whitburn; Rashid Bros, Murraysgat­e; U-Save, East Main St; Mia’s Card Shop, West Main St; Premier Store (Mr Singh), East Main Street; Glenmore Minimarket, Blaeberryh­ill Road; and Boots the Chemist, West Main Street. The last day for posting will be the end of trading on Thursday 20 December. The cost remains 20p per card. Deliveries will take place on Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons to Whitburn, East Whitburn and Redmill ONLY. Whitburn Juniors Football Social Club Monday hosts a regular Bingo Night with eyes down at 7pm. There is also a Domino Tournament every Friday evening at 10 pm.
