Local talent joins forces and raise cash for foodbank
Kind-hearted musicians have teamed up to record their own charity version of the festive classic ‘Do they Know It’s Christmas?’
a special version of the legendary Band aid single has been recorded by the stars of the West Lothian music scene to raise funds for West Lothian Foodbank.
the single was the brainwave of Cal and Sarah Bowes from Livingston’s West Lothian guitar Services music shop and features contributions from local music stars such as Mark Sharp & the Bicycle thieves, the King Lot, Mark Deans, IKarI, Frank porter and many more.
Big- hearted West Lothian musicians have recorded their own take on a Christmas classic to help a local good cause.
A special version of the legendary Band Aid track ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’ has been recorded by the cream of West Lothian music talent to raise funds for West Lothian Foodbank.
The single features contributions from local music stars from Mark Sharp & The Bicycle Thieves, The King Lot, Mark Deans, IKARI, Frank Porter, She Burns Red, The Black Lights, Uncle Red and many more.
Cal and Sarah Bowes from Livingston’s West Lothian Guitar Services music shop, organised the single.
The couple said: “We are hoping to raise a great amount of money to assist West Lothian Foodbank during what is sure to be an exceptionally busy time of year.
“We know through our own experiences and that of others that it only takes the smallest bit of bad luck to have to need the assistance of an amazing charity such as them.
“Therefore, we are using our incredibly lucky position of knowing a lot of the incredibly talented artists in the West Lothian area to record a cover version of ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’ to raise funds and even food for the charity.
“The entire single has been completely recorded, mixed, mastered and printed right here in West Lothian by local artists.”
