- SEAN O’NEIL

Three armed robbers threatened a homeowner during a raid in West Lothian before stealing jewellery from the property.

The incident happened at an address in the Kirkfield West area of Livingston Village at around 6pm on Wednesday, December 5.

The homeowner returned home to find three armed suspects in the house, who threatened the victim before making off with the jewellery.

The suspects are all described as males wearing black coloured clothing and black balaclavas covering their faces. One was described as wearing a black North Face jacket.

The suspects left the area in what is described as a black or grey coloured Audi car that had black tinted windows and black alloys.

Inquiries into the full circumstances are ongoing and officers are now appealing for witnesses.

Detective Inspector Paul Batten from Livingston CID said: “Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident and the suspects were disturbed when the homeowner arrived back at the property.

“We are eager to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened, or who saw the car in the vicinity of Kirkfield West in Livingston yesterday evening. We believe the car turned west onto the B0715 Kirkton North Road when leaving the scene.

“I would appeal for anyone with any dash cam footage of the car in the area, or who can help us trace those involved, to get in touch immediately.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Livingston CID on 101, quoting incident number 2823 of 5 December, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
