Lara McDonald, aged 26, Fife

“I became an Ambassador to get more involved in my local community and to represent the young people of Fife in a national Scottish Government project.

“It has been a fantastic year with schools, youth groups and local businesses all supporting local young people.

“One of my highlights was an event run by young people at the Cupar Youth Café, which included performances from a music group and an LGBT art project.

“Recently, I was part of a workshop with Edinburgh’s Hogmanay, where young people designed a symbol which best represents Fife.

“This symbol, will be made into a wicker sculpture, along with 13 other regions in Scotland, and displayed at the Royal Mile in Edinburgh’
