ST JOHN’S PROJECT

The aim of the project is to reduce levels of worry and distress to patients who are suddenly/unexpected­ly admitted to St John’s Hospital, Livingston. Working in close partnershi­p with West Lothian Council and NHS Lothian patients will be able to access relevant, tailored advice, informatio­n and advocacy regardless of their health condition or circumstan­ces of their admittance. The project provides free, independen­t and confidenti­al advice, informatio­n and advocacy services to patients of St John’s. Referrals can be made through the Citizens Advice bureau West Lothian on 01506 444814 and the Advice Shop on 01506 283000 or at the St John’s informatio­n desk at the main reception where a self-referral box is located.

BEAVER SCOUT GROUP

We currently have spaces for both boys and girls aged between 6 and 8 years old. Meetings take place on Wednesday evenings from 6.307.30pm in Toronto Primary School and we offer a wide range of fun games, crafts, outings, friendship and a chance to learn and try new things. YAP MUSIC CLUB

West Lothian Youth Action Project (Yap Music Club) meets on Tuesday Nights from 6.30-9pm in Riverside Community Wing, Maree Walk, Craigshill. 50p Entry. This Music Club is for 12- 21 year olds with an interest in making music. CRAIGSHILL DROP IN

Craigshill’s Drop - In is a new club based at the community wing in Riverside. The club offers various activities for young people from the age of 12 to 21 years providing pool, music, Xbox as well as advice and support. Craigshill Good Neighbour runs the following activities on these weekdays in The Craigshill Good Neighbour Network, The Mall on 01506 442093. Please note all are welcome, but please phone and book for the Craft Group as places are limited. The cost includes a refreshmen­t. “Pins & Needles” knitting and sewing (BYO) meets on Mondays

from 10.30am – 12., cost £1.50 . “The Lunch Club” with a 3 course meal plus activities meets on Tuesdays from 12-3pm, cost £5 for lunch and afternoon refreshmen­t. “Singing for Health” meets on Wednesdays from 10.30am-12, cost £1.20. “Indoor Bowls” meets on a Wednesday from 1pm-2.30pm, cost £1.50. “Craft Group” meets on Thursdays from 10.30am-12, cost £1.50. “Mix n Match Indoor Games” (pool, darts, boules etc) meets on Thursdays from 2pm-3pm, cost £1.50 and the “Mens Group” meets on Fridays from 10.30am-12.30pm, cost £2 which includes refreshmen­t and light lunch.

CRAIGSHILL COMMUNITY COUNCIL

The Community Council meets on the 2nd Wednesday in the month, except January and July at 7.15pm at the Almondbank Centre. The office-bearers are Ian Buchanan (Chair), Wilma Pincott (Vice Chair), Rose McAulay (Secretary), David Gilmour (Treasurer) and Craig Hume (Planning Secretary).
